Nylon Chain Sprockets

Match your conveyor chain to the correct tooth count, shaft bore, keyway and hub geometry. Source nylon sprockets for replacement or new equipment with the chain and shaft interface checked before production.

Choose the series, then the tooth count.

The options below are listed on our existing product pages. Current stock, exact material and bore/hub combinations require confirmation. Series names are references, not proof of compatibility with every chain bearing a similar name.

Changing teeth changes the system.

Review center distance, wrap, clearance, drive ratio and conveyor speed before replacing a sprocket with a different tooth count. Use the chain manufacturer's specified engagement geometry.

Chain matching

A matching pitch is only the starting point.

Exact Chain Identification

Provide the manufacturer, chain model, pitch, width, attachments and drawing. Identify tabletop, modular, roller or other chain construction.

Different chain families can require different tooth forms even when dimensions appear similar.

Drive or Idler Function

State whether the wheel transmits torque or runs as an idler. Provide speed, load, shaft arrangement and required retention.

Bearings, bushings and inserts are included only when explicitly quoted.

Replacement Verification

Send a wheel drawing and chain reference. If only a sample is available, identify worn areas and confirm the original functional dimensions.

A photograph alone is insufficient to define the tooth and bore geometry.

Bore & keyway specification

Define how the sprocket fits and drives.

FeatureRFQ requirementImportant check
Round boreDiameter d, tolerance, through/blind configuration and shaft drawingClearance or interference fit must be reviewed for the plastic grade and service conditions

Idler bore arrangementShaft, bearing or bushing details and axial retentionConfirm which components are supplied
Specify dimensions, not just “keyed bore.”

Include the key and shaft reference, required fit and inspection conditions. Bore and keyway tolerances are confirmed against the approved drawing; no universal machining tolerance is promised.

Hub geometry & assembly space

Check the complete axial envelope.

Hub Diameter & Length

Provide hub outside diameter ØD and hub length Lh. Identify whether the hub projects to one side or both sides of the tooth body.

Body & Total Width

Specify tooth-body width, total overall width and the distance from the tooth centerline to the locating face.

Clearance & Retention

Include shoulders, collars, adjacent supports, shaft engagement and available axial space. Confirm the fixing arrangement and parts included.

Dimension checklist

Z / chain model / bore d and tolerance / keyway b × depth × length / hub ØD × Lh / tooth-body width / total width / hub side and projection.

Material & operating conditions

Confirm the nylon grade for the duty.

Existing OPB and 1060 pages identify PA6. Other series and modified formulations require separate grade confirmation. A plastic conveyor sprocket category name does not establish the material of every product.

Moisture & Dimensions

Nylon moisture content and temperature can affect fits. Provide washdown, humidity, temperature and inspection conditions for close-fitting bores.

Load, Speed & Duty

Share torque or chain pull, speed, starts/stops, shocks and operating hours. Material selection is not a substitute for checking the drivetrain design.

Documents & Special Requirements

State food-contact, chemical, electrical or other requirements before quoting. Exact grade suitability and supporting documents must be confirmed.

Nylon Chain Sprockets FAQ

Can I select a nylon sprocket by tooth count alone?

No. The chain model and tooth geometry must match, and the bore, keyway, hub and wheel width must suit the shaft and assembly.

Can you machine a custom bore and keyway?

Drawing-based work can be reviewed. Provide bore geometry, fit, keyway width and depth, hub dimensions and service conditions.

Are sprockets from different chain series interchangeable?

Do not assume interchangeability. Confirm the exact chain manufacturer/model and engagement geometry before purchase.

Do you supply bearings, keys or fixing hardware?

Only when included in the quotation. State whether you require the sprocket alone or a defined assembly.

Can you make a replacement from a sample?

A sample can support review, but worn features may not reflect the original geometry. Supply the matching chain and shaft details and approve a dimensioned drawing.

Request a matched sprocket
