Material Properties

Properties of PP Polypropylene
Basic Physical Properties Colorless, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic. It is one of the lightest common resins.
Mechanical Properties Excellent mechanical properties including tensile strength, compressive strength and hardness. Outstanding rigidity and bending fatigue resistance. High impact resistance at room temperature but poor low-temperature impact resistance.
Temperature Resistance Good heat resistance. Usable above 100°C; up to 120°C under light load. Maximum continuous operating temperature reaches 120°C, short-term use temperature up to 150°C.
Chemical Stability Good chemical stability. It does not react with most chemicals except strong oxidants.
Insulation Performance PP features excellent electrical insulation. Its electrical performance is barely affected by environment and electric field frequency. It is a great dielectric and insulating material suitable for high-frequency insulation applications.

Application

Widely used in chemical containers, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, decoration, water treatment, acid & alkali resistant equipment, electroplating equipment, solar photovoltaic equipment, environmental protection equipment, waste water and waste gas discharge equipment, scrubbing towers, clean rooms, semiconductor factories and related industrial equipment. It is also the preferred material for plastic water tanks.Thick PP sheets are commonly used for stamping plates, lathe backing plates, etc.
