Description

Variable-diameter follow-up support wheel for laser pipe cutting machines

A follow-up pipe support component for laser pipe cutting machines, installed in the outfeed (discharge) area to cradle long round / square tubes. It adapts to a wide range of pipe diameters, prevents sagging and high-speed whipping of long or thin-walled tubes, keeps the pipe rotation axis coaxial with the chuck, and stabilizes cutting accuracy.

Material:Black nylon | Natural (white) nylon | PTFE (temperature resistance 260°C)

Core Function 1 — Anti-sag & runout suppression After a long tube extends past the chuck, its own weight bends it downward, causing large runout during rotation — which leads to slanted cuts, shifted hole positions and heavy burrs. The curved cradle surface of the variable-diameter wheel supports the tube and controls runout; the improvement is most pronounced on thin-walled small tubes.
Core Function 2 — Multi-diameter adaptive support V-shaped / arc-shaped cradle structure adapts to different outer diameters. To switch pipe sizes, only the height setting needs to be adjusted — no frequent wheel replacement.
Core Function 3 — Pipe surface protection Nylon material; it will not scratch the outer wall of steel tubes.

FAQ

Q1: What is this variable‑diameter wheel used for?
A: It is an auxiliary supporting part for laser tube‑cutting machines, installed at the discharge zone. It holds up long round / square tubes, prevents sagging and run‑out during high‑speed tube rotation, keeps tube coaxial with the chuck and improves cutting precision.
Q2: What material options are available?
A: We supply black nylon, natural (off‑white) nylon, and high‑temperature‑resistant PTFE (max working temp 260 °C). Nylon protects pipe surfaces from scratches.
Q3: Does one wheel fit multiple tube diameters?
A: Yes. Its curved V‑shaped profile supports different outer‑diameter pipes. You only adjust the mounting height instead of frequently swapping rollers.
Q4: Can it suppress tube bouncing for thin‑wall tubing?
A: Definitely. This roller is especially effective for thin‑walled tubes. It restricts vertical sagging and rotational jumping to reduce bad cuts like angled cuts, hole offset and large burrs.
Q5: Where do I install these wheels on my laser cutter?
A: Mount them on the output / discharge side after the chuck, to support the free‑hanging end of long work‑pieces.
Q6: Are custom sizes available?
A: We have a full standard size range. Custom dimensions can be discussed upon request based on minimum‑order quantity.
Q7: What is the unit of the dimension table?
A: All listed dimensions are in millimeters (mm).
