Description
A flexible chain corner wheel is a driven turning unit used on flexible (modular) chain conveyors. It replaces the plain curve rail wherever the conveyor has to make a tight horizontal 90° or 180° loop, such as around machinery or in a compact layout.
It consists of a circular plate that cradles the chain, a curved aluminum guide track, and the wheel itself — normally made of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with a nylon (plastic) contact face. The chain runs around the wheel, and the wheel positively drives and turns the chain instead of letting it slide through a passive bend.
Flexible Chain Corner Wheels (Wheel Bends)
Horizontal Curve Rails
Vertical Curve Rails
– It turns the flexible chain through 90° or 180° at a defined radius (e.g. R150 / R160 / R170), matching the chain width (63 / 83 / 103 mm series).
– It provides positive drive and tension, reducing chain wear, noise and slipping in the corner.
– The nylon face protects the chain and the conveyed products; aluminum keeps it light.
– It is installed together with horizontal/vertical curve rails to route the conveyor around corners, elevation changes and machines.
In short: it is the powered “pulley wheel” that bends and drives a flexible chain conveyor around tight 90°/180° corners.
