Fender Facing Panel

The fender facing panel is a type of board installed on the edge of a dock, the side of a ship, or other related facilities. It is used to buffer the impact force generated during the docking or movement of the ship, protecting the dock and the ship from collision damage.

When a ship is berthing or departing, the fender facing panel can effectively absorb and disperse the impact force between the ship and the dock, preventing damage to the dock structure. At the same time, it avoids the scraping and abrasion of the ship’s side. The fender facing panel also has excellent corrosion resistance, which can resist the erosion of seawater, salt spray, etc., and extend the service life of relevant components of the dock and the ship.

Made of ultra – high molecular weight polyethylene, it has excellent properties such as light weight, impact resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, UV resistance, aging resistance, low friction coefficient, and energy absorption. The fender facing panel can effectively prevent the impact of UV radiation and ship hull impact on the ship hull and the dock. It can resist the erosion of seawater, salt spray, etc., and maintain excellent performance in various harsh environments.

The high – temperature and high – pressure compression molding process is adopted. The raw materials are placed in a special mold. Under precisely controlled high – temperature and high – pressure conditions, the raw materials are closely integrated and formed into a board. After molding, the board is cooled through a professional cooling system to ensure the stability of its physical properties. Strictly in accordance with the requirements of the drawing, the cooled board is accurately cut to determine the size and specifications of the board. At the same time, for the holes and chamfers to be processed on the board, professional tools are used for fine operations.

It is an important part of port terminal protection facilities and is widely used in container terminals, bulk cargo terminals, passenger terminals, etc., protecting the dock structure from damage caused by ship collisions.

Many ships install fender facing panels on their sides to protect themselves from damage when berthing or colliding with other objects, especially some large merchant ships, cruise ships, fishing boats, etc.
